Corneal tear – A rare complication of pterygium surgery
A 48-year-old female presented with redness and foreign body sensation in the right eye for 20-day duration. She had undergone pterygium extraction in the affected eye 1 month back. The vision was reduced to the perception of light. Clinical examination showed a repaired corneal tear with a collapsed anterior chamber. Corneal tear is a very rare intraoperative complication of pterygium surgery. Surgeons should be vigilant to avoid such a vision-threatening complication.
