Philosophy of Malay Literature Education: A Preliminary Explanation
The formulation of the Malay Literary Education Philosophy statement can be perceived as an effort to make the objectives of Malay Literary Education clearer and more directed. However, the absence of an elaboration on this statement is said to have caused and continues to cause negative effects, particularly leading to either a narrow or overly broad interpretation among teachers who serve as the implementing agents of the national education policy. To date, the relevant authorities have yet to provide an explanation for this philosophical statement.Due to this gap, this study is conducted with two main objectives: to identify the basic concepts of the Malay Literary Education Philosophy and to elaborate on three fundamental concepts within it.This study applies an authority-defined approach, where ideas, definitions, and discussions on a particular matter or concept refer to interpretations put forth by the most authoritative sources. This initial elaboration encompasses three fundamental concepts in the Malay Literary Education Philosophy, which are also emphasized in the National Education Philosophy: mind, spirituality, and emotions.
