The innovative approach of continuous lateral parasacral ischial plane block: supine position
Dear Editor,Continuous peripheral nerve block (CPNB) has been widely used to provide intra-and postoperative analgesia in lower limb surgeries [1,2].However, it is mainly performed on safe and easily operable superficial nerves or fascial planes, including branches of the lumbar plexus such as the femoral nerve, adductor canal, and fascia iliaca compartment block. The sacral plexus and its branches play a major role in lower limb pain control, especially in surgeries involving pelvic fractures, total knee arthroplasty, tibia-fibula fractures, and debridement of diabetic foot ulcers [3].
