Pengaruh habits of mind terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada materi polinomial

Abstract This study aims to analyze the relationship between habits of mind and students' mathematical concept understanding ability on polynomial material. The research used a qualitative approach with the subject of six students of class XI MIPA at SMAN 18 Garut, which consisted of three levels of mathematical ability (low, medium, and high). Data were collected through concept understanding tests, habits of mind questionnaires, observations, and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model (data reduction, data presentation, and verification). The results showed variations in the level of understanding of mathematical concepts and habits of mind in each student. Two students with very high concept understanding (R1 and R6) had very high and sufficient habits of mind, while students with low concept understanding (R2 and R4) showed low and very high habits of mind. Students with moderate concept understanding (R3 and R5) had very high and high habits of mind. This finding indicates that habits of mind are not the only determinant of mathematical concept understanding. Other factors such as learning readiness, material complexity, and depth of concept mastery also influence.
