Ectopic Pituitary Adenoma of Nasal Septum and Review of the Literature
Nasal ectopic pituitary adenoma (EPA), particularly within the nasal septum, is exceptionally rare. Functioning adenomas are more common, with non-functioning adenomas being infrequent. This case study details an Asian patient diagnosed with non-functioning EPA with initial symptoms of space-occupying lesions in the nasal septum. The patient experienced bilateral nasal obstruction for 2 years. Postoperative pathology confirmed EPA after surgical resection through nasal endoscopy. Post-surgery, nasal obstruction resolved, and no tumor recurrence was observed during follow-up. This study aims to enrich the diagnostic scope of nasal septal masses and conduct a literature review to enhance the understanding and management of EPA.
