EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES IN THE COLLEGE OF HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT IN BAGUIO CENTRAL UNIVERSITY

This study investigates the factors that influence the participation in extracurricular activities among students in the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Baguio Central University. The research aims to identify the barriers to student’s participation and explore potential solutions to enhance self-efficacy and encourage active involvement. A survey was administered to a sample of students, and the results revealed that motivational factors, such as personal interest and peer influence, play a significant role in determining participation in extracurricular activities. However, the study also found that logistical barriers, including lack of time and resources, are major hindrance to student’s participation. The findings suggest that implementing strategies to address these barriers, such as flexible scheduling and resource allocation, maybe effective in increasing students participation in extracurricular activities. The study’s implications for promoting student engagement and enhancing the overall college experience are discussed.
