IL-4 exerts beneficial anti-tumor effect dependent on a short-range manner
• IL-4 must be very close to the target cells in terms of spatial location. • Peri-tumor injection of Fc–IL-4 produces beneficial anti-tumor effects. • Blocking the lymphocyte source did not affect the enrichment of effective CD8 T cells within the TME. • The conditional knockdown of IL-4 abolished the hypoxia and cancer cell death phenotype. • 4 T-Trap caused reorganization of tumor vasculature and cancer cell death in dependent on IL-4.
