SOCIAL WORK WITH MOTHERS LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS AND WOMEN WHO USE PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCES IN THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC

This study examines approaches to social support for vulnerable women in Kyrgyzstan, including mothers with HIV/AIDS, substance users. It focuses on gender barriers such as early motherhood and limited access to reproductive healthcare. Stigmatization increases HIV infection rates among women and disrupts antiretroviral therapy adherence. NGO-implemented harm reduction programs providing temporary housing and hygienic assistance play an important role. Successful prevention of vertical HIV transmission has been achieved using free breast milk substitutes. The integration of psychological care into medical protocols is emphasized. Improved interagency collaboration and legal frameworks are key to improving the target groups' quality of life.
