SOCIO-ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF RURAL POVERTY IN THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC
This study examines the factors contributing to rural poverty in Kyrgyzstan, focusing on low agricultural productivity and limited income opportunities. Research shows that a lack of modern technologies and weak infrastructure increase economic vulnerability. The COVID-19 pandemic led to reduced cash inflow in 60% of households. The authors strongly emphasized the need for comprehensive measures, including modernizing water systems and expanding farmers’ credit access. The results show that rural poverty rates are 2.6 times higher than those in urban areas. The proposed solutions aim to create alternative employment and enhance social programs to improve living standards in Kyrgyzstan's rural areas.
