Analysis of Field Applicability based on Installation of Reinforcement Material

Recently, the damage caused by slope destruction and landslides due to concentrated heavy rain and guerrilla rain owing to climate change has been rapidly increasing. The existing slope reinforcement method has limitations wherein the drainage function and shear strength increase are exerted by individual mechanisms, which causes difficulties in terms of constructability, economy, and maintenance. Therefore, in this study, the effect of changing the embedding angle of slope reinforcement on groundwater level change and stability was analyzed via a numerical analysis approach in modeling ground that reflects field conditions. The results of indoor model experiments and field experiments were compared and analyzed to verify the field applicability of slope reinforcement.

Abstract

The existing slope reinforcement method has limitations wherein the drainage function and shear strength increase are exerted by individual mechanisms, which causes difficulties in terms of constructability, economy, and maintenance. Therefore, in this study, the effect of changing the embedding angle of slope reinforcement on groundwater level change and stability was analyzed via a numerical analysis approach in modeling ground that reflects field conditions. The results of indoor model experiments and field experiments were compared and analyzed to verify the field applicability of slope reinforcement.
