Tinjauan Literatur tentang Mekanisme Resistance Training dalam Pengendalian Gula Darah pada Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2

Resistance training is recognized as an effective method for controlling blood glucose levels. This study aims to elucidate the mechanisms by which resistance training lowers blood glucose. A literature review was conducted following the PRISMA checklist, with research questions formulated based on the PICO framework. Searches were performed on PubMed and Google Scholar using specific keywords, applying inclusion and exclusion criteria to ensure relevance, and limiting publications to English and Indonesian from 2019 to 2024, prioritizing open-access articles. Seven articles were selected for analysis. The findings indicate that resistance training improves glycemic control by enhancing glucose uptake and increasing insulin sensitivity. This research highlights the importance of a comprehensive approach to managing chronic metabolic conditions and exploring interventions that may reduce reliance on pharmacological therapies. However, limitations exist in the exploration of specific molecular mechanisms and comparative analyses with alternative interventions, necessitating further research to deepen the understanding of resistance training's effects on blood glucose management.
