ANÁLISE DE CARBONATAÇÃO EM VIGA COM ARMADURA EXPOSTA: ESTUDO DE CASO NA FÁBRICA DO PONTO DA CAMISA

The study investigates carbonation in reinforced concrete beam with exposed reinforcement at the Ponto da Camisa Factory in Manaus-AM, where the humid tropical climate accelerates this pathological process. Carbonation, a natural phenomenon, reduces the pH of the concrete, depassivating the reinforcement and promoting corrosion, compromising structural safety. To diagnose carbonation depth, tests with phenolphthalein solution will be conducted, allowing for the assessment of degradation and the proposal of corrective measures. The objective is to understand the effects of this phenomenon and suggest solutions to restore structural functionality and extend the service life of constructions.
