MECHANISMS FOR PROTECTION OF WHISTLEBLOWERS

More than thirty years after the beginning of the transition to democracy and sixteen years after the country became a member of the EU, the levels of corruption in Bulgaria continue to be extremely high. In view of this, the introduction of an effective mechanism for the protection of whistleblowers, the thorough analysis of the scope of the protected persons, the possibility for them to benefit from various whistleblowing channels, as well as the specific protective measures, are a necessary and mandatory element for efficient and effective measures in the fight against corruption.
