Activities of the NKVD troops of the USSR in the fight against nationalist gangs in Lithuania in 1945

The article presents a little-known facts of the participation of NKVD troops in the struggle against nationalist gangs in the Lithuanian SSR in the victorious 1945. The role of conducting security operations is emphasized. A brief analysis of the forms of struggle, such as the actions of reconnaissance and search groups, is given. It is noted that the beginning of spring sharply increased the activity of nationalist gangs. It is concluded that only in October 1945 the number of band events in Lithuania radically decreased.
