A Rare Case Report - Schizophrenia with Klippel–Feil Syndrome
Abstract Klippel–Feil syndrome (KFS) is a genetic condition characterized by improper segmentation or congenital fusion of at least 1 vertebral segment of the cervical spine, with or without additional spinal or extraspinal manifestations, and an annual incidence of around 1 in 42,000 births. It is associated with a classical triad of symptoms short neck, low posterior hairline, and limited range of neck movements. Psychiatric manifestations of this syndrome are rare and not much researched, however, there are a few reports of intellectual disability, Tourette’s syndrome, and schizophrenia. Here, we report a rare case of schizophrenia in KFS.
