Achados ultrassonográficos da doença inflamatória intestinal linfoplasmocitária em um cão da raça Yorkshire terrier

This report describes the ultrasound findings of a Yorkshire terrier dog diagnosed with lymphoplasmacytic Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Clinically, the patient presented soft stools, slight weight loss and ascites. Ultrasonographic images revealed thickening of the walls of the stomach, duodenum and jejunum, in addition to loss of parietal stratification and the presence of free fluid in the abdominal cavity. The biopsies performed confirmed the presence of a lymphoplasmacytic condition in the stomach, duodenum and colon. Treatment included a controlled diet, administration of corticosteroids, tylosin and probiotics, which enabled clinical improvement and consequently stabilization of the patient's symptoms. This outcome reinforces the relevance of ultrasound both in the diagnosis and in the integrated management of IBD treatment.
