Abstract

The article is devoted to the features of formation of the enterprise development strategy in the conditions of the circular economy. The aim of the article is to study the process of elaborating a development strategy for an enterprise, considering the key principles of the circular economy in the context of transformation of the economic environment. The article presents the interpretation of the term “strategy” and highlights several approaches for better understanding it: strategy as a plan, strategy as a development vector and strategy as synergy. The views of scientists on the definition of the concept of “enterprise development strategy” are analyzed. A classification of strategies for developing an economic entity is provided, which allows them to define in more detail their content, scope of use and efficiency of implementation. The article considers the essence and content of the circular economy and reveals the principles of the 10-R circular economy. It is found that more than 90% of materials in the world are consumed, lost or remain unavailable for reuse for many years, and materials that return to the global economy after the end of their useful life in 2023 accounted for only 7.2% of all material resources in the economy. It is determined that in a circular economy, enterprises need a detailed development strategy that will ensure their sustainability and adaptability to change. It is proved that considering the principles of the circular economy when creating a development strategy for an enterprise contributes to the formulation of its long-term competitive advantages, as it changes the emphasis from achieving short-term efficiency to ensuring sustainable growth. The article proposes stages of elaboration of the enterprise development strategy in the conditions of the circular economy, which considers long-term priorities and directions of its activity, analysis of external and internal environments, and integration of environmentally oriented solutions at all levels of management.
