The article analyzes the difficulties of foreign students' adaptation to the linguistic and cultural peculiarities of the Russian educational space, as well as the search for ways to overcome them. Based on the application of a set of methods, including questionnaires, interviews, focus groups and statistical analysis, the key barriers to adaptation related to linguistic, academic, socio-cultural and everyday factors are investigated. A multi-level model of adaptation support is proposed, including linguistic support, academic counseling, intercultural training and involvement in joint activities. The prospects of introducing the model into university practice and the potential of interuniversity networking are discussed.
