Introducing Merdeka Curriculum to TK PGRI Wanakarsa Students
The Ministry of Education and Culture simplified the curriculum in special conditions (emergency curriculum) to mitigate learning loss during the pandemic. Various improvements have been made until this curriculum was initiated. Reflecting on this, UMNU Kebumen KKN students contributed to introducing the merdeka curriculum in the learning process to kindergarten students in Wanakarsa village. This is because the institution was still implementing K-13. Undertaken as part of a Community Service program by UMNU Kebumen KKN students, the initiative aimed to address the ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic on early childhood education. This research utilized field survey methods, observation, interviews, and literature research. A project-based learning approach was adopted to facilitate the curriculum's implementation. While the project was ongoing, preliminary findings indicate success in the planning, execution, and evaluation phases. Thus, this research contributes to the broader discourse on curriculum innovation and adaptation in early childhood education, particularly in post-pandemic contexts.
