New species of Ameronothroidea (Acari, Oribatida) associated with mangroves in Vietnam

Two new species of intertidal oribatid mites of Ameronothroidea (Oribatida)—Alismobates tobiaspfingstli sp. nov. (Fortuyniidae) and Selenoribates gibbosus sp. nov. (Selenoribatidae)—are described, based on adults collected from litter of a mangrove forest in the Can Gio Biosphere Reserve, southern Vietnam. These are the first records of these families for the Vietnamese fauna. Alismobates tobiaspfingstli sp. nov. differs from the related species A. reticulatus by the absence of the interbothridial ridges, the length of the interlamellar seta, the presence of longitudinal ridges on the notogaster, the morphology of posterior part of the notogaster, and the location of the adanal lyrifissure. Selenoribates gibbosus sp. nov. differs from the related species S. quasimodo by the presence of the hump-like, narrowed distally structure in centrodorsal part of the notogaster and two oblique ridges in anterior part of the notogaster, the number of the adanal setae and the location of the adanal lyrifissure.
