Integrated Simulation and Optimization of Reservoir‐Wellbore‐Surface Systems in Ultrahigh Water Cut Oil Fields

ABSTRACT To address the challenges of poor performance and optimization in ultrahigh water cut oil fields, a comprehensive set of integrated simulation technologies tailored for these conditions was developed. The application of these technologies in multiple ultrahigh water cut oil fields was focused on the unique development characteristics of these fields, considering the impact of high‐water variability. Reservoir global optimization and comprehensive management strategies, grounded in systems engineering theory, were employed to unlock the potential of remaining oil and enhance system efficiency. This study primarily examined the integrated production simulation and optimization process for the reservoir, wellbore, and surface facilities, encompassing tasks such as • Data organization and analysis • Model creation and coupling • Historical matching • System diagnostics • Potential assessment • Holistic optimization • Dynamic forecasting Based on these efforts, the technical procedures for the integrated simulation of ultrahigh water cut oil fields were summarized. This study elucidates the effectiveness of the integrated simulation approach in these fields, providing a foundation and methodology for the efficient exploitation of ultrahigh water cut oil fields.
