PIV experiment on methanol atomization of burner nozzle for marine boilers
In marine boiler, the atomization effect of nozzle is a very important index. The atomizing process of methanol entering the furnace through the nozzle was measured by particle image velocity measurement technology, and the characteristic parameters of spray flow under different rotating speed were analyzed. The experimental results show that the velocity field distribution of the three kinds of rotor speed is similar, and the velocity is the largest in a small part of the region closest to the axial and radial distance of the nozzle, and the velocity is lower along the axial and radial distance of the nozzle until the velocity is close to 0. The measuring region of particle size is divided into three parts. The Sauter diameter of the bottom region is larger than that of the middle region and that of the middle region is larger than that of the top region, which is mainly due to the process of droplet splitting along the radial direction. At the same time, the Sauter diameters of the three regions have the same variation law with time, but there is a lag between the regions, which is caused by the eddy and turbulent flow in the flow field. The average diameter of Sauter at 3000r/min, 4800r/min and 7000r/min is 0.0957mm, 0.0905mm and 0.0774mm, respectively.
