USP low-temperature modified asphalt road performance research
This research aims to investigate the road performance of USP low-temperature modified asphalt mixtures and compare them with grade 90 asphalt mixtures. Using the Marshall design approach, the mixture’s optimal oil-stone ratio was found to be 4.1%. Testing was then done on the low-temperature crack resistance, water stability, and high-temperature stability. The findings demonstrate that adding the USP modifier successfully raises the asphalt’s low-temperature performance while lowering the construction temperature. The USP-modified asphalt mixture passes the standards’ water stability requirements and shows improved resistance to cracking at low temperatures and rutting at high temperatures when compared to the grade 90 asphalt combination. In summary, USP low-temperature modified asphalt mixtures show outstanding road performance and reduce construction temperatures, indicating promising application prospects.
