Radioactive decay properties of neutron-rich curium nuclei
Identifying decay modes is crucial for understanding nuclear stability, structure and safety. Hence, we systematically investigated all possible decay modes in Cm isotopes, including [Formula: see text]-decay, [Formula: see text]-decay, one- and two-proton decay and cluster decay. Coulomb and proximity potential models were used in the evaluation of proton, alpha and cluster-decay. Semi-empirical formulae for [Formula: see text]-decay 45 , 46 and spontaneous fission 47 were used which were available in the literature. The findings from these models were validated comparing with experimental data. About 13 isotopes were newly identified among which [Formula: see text]Cm were [Formula: see text]-emitters and [Formula: see text]Cm and [Formula: see text]Cm were spontaneous fission emitters. We tabulated the decay chains for each newly identified [Formula: see text]Cm isotope, enhancing our understanding of their nuclear stability and transformation processes. Among these nuclei, [Formula: see text]Cm and [Formula: see text]Cm undergo 2[Formula: see text]-decay and convert [Formula: see text]Cf and [Formula: see text]Cf nuclei and further undergo spontaneous fission. Further, in case of [Formula: see text]Cm, [Formula: see text]Cm and [Formula: see text]Cm nuclei follow consistent [Formula: see text]-decay and [Formula: see text]-decay and finally reach stable nuclei such as [Formula: see text]Pb, [Formula: see text]Tl and [Formula: see text]Pb nuclei. However, experimental validation is crucial to confirm these theoretical predictions and to ensure accuracy.
