EV Battery Charging with a Solar-Integrated Boost Converter
This study presents the battery charging of an Electric Vehicle (EV) system with a boost converter designed for charging from Solar Photovoltaic Cells (SPV). It has been established that the incorporation of these sources seeks to improve energy usage, minimize the dependency of non-renewable resources and also improve the general charging systems. This EV charging system consists in the SPV array and the boost converter. Depending on availability of renewable energy, it regulates the flow of energy and also charge EV batteries. A Boost converter's is used while charging the EV battery using solar power for extraction of the optimum SPVpower. This supply is produced by boost converter that also operates with the PFC circuit. Simulation is performed in MATLAB for the suggested system with the help of different operating conditions in order to measure its performance.
