Reactive Power Compensation in Hybrid Power System using African Vulture Optimized Statcom Tilt Controller
Reactive power imbalance in hybrid power systems is due to the intermittent nature of renewable energy sources and different load disturbances. Dynamic voltage stability and reactive power compensation (RPC) are achieved by the implementation of flexible AC transmission system (FACTs) devices. This paper explores the enhancement of RPC and voltage stability in a standalone wind diesel hybrid power system (SWDHPS) through the utilization of a novel African Vulture optimized STATCOM-integral minus tilit derivative with filter coefficient controller (STATCOM-I-TDN). The performance of the proposed controller is compared with traditional controllers. Analysis revealed that the dynamic voltage response of the proposed controller outperformed others.
