Fuzzy Logic System for Preference Aware Interplanting in Container Gardens
Preference, space, and variety are three often com-peting variables that many gardeners must optimize. Gardeners living in apartments or duplexes with small patios feel even more constrained, as most discussion of potted or container gardens surrounds ornamental flowers, while herbs and vegetables are often solely related to each other granted the space of a full bed. This conflict leaves many gardeners feeling that they must choose between what they'd like to grow and what they are able to grow. This paper serves to offer a framework and base implementation of a system to provide preference sensitive interplanting suggestions for users with container gardens, helping such gardeners to be able to optimize their gardens and find solutions that enable lush and varied gardens for users with limited space.
