Multi Winding Isolated Converter with Cascaded MLI for Solar Electric Vehicle
This article proposes application of multi winding Isolated converter using asymmetrical cascaded multilevel Inverter (MLI) for solar electric vehicle. A 9 level MLI is getting multiple DC inputs by the help of a multi secondary winding Flyback converter from a single solar panel. The MLI provides higher level voltage output, which can run the AC motor used in Electric Vehicle (EV) with improved power quality without bulky filter circuits. The secondary windings turn of the converter maintain a ratio of 1:3 to generate 9 level voltage output. The use of MLI reduces the output voltage THD (Total Harmonic distortion) which lies below the set value by IEEE-519 standard. The simulation results of the proposed scheme has validated the theoretical concept.
