Integrated MHD thermal performance and entropy generation of an electro-osmotic flow of Tri-hybrid nanofluid in a tapered asymmetric channel
The main objective of this study is to demonstrate the thermal performance of electro-osmotic flow of a tri-hybrid (Fe 3 O[Formula: see text]Zn[Formula: see text]Ag) nanofluid with consideration of transverse magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) through a tapered asymmetric channel. Peristaltic flow in a porous media is also considered for better understanding. The homotopy perturbation method (HPM) is used to solve the nonlinear partial differential equations. The effects of various factors for both positive and negative Helmholtz–Smoluchowski velocity values are demonstrated through graphs. According to the findings, the electro-osmotic parameter has a dual character on velocity. Further, the temperature increases significantly with the Joule heating parameter. Increasing the electro-osmotic parameter [Formula: see text] leads to a temperature rise for both positive and negative values of Helmholtz–Smoluchowski velocity (Uhs). It is also observed that electro-osmotic flow generates less entropy and improves thermodynamic efficiency. The observations regarding entropy and Bejan number decreasing with Hall current are noteworthy. The radiation parameter (Rn) lowers the Bejan number and entropy. Furthermore, the confined bolus swelled in size as the Hartmann number increased and conflict behavior is observed for electro-osmotic parameter. The study’s findings elucidate complex interrelations among electro-osmotic flow, temperature, and entropy generation, with prospective uses in biomedical domains, especially in the treatment of arterial blockages. These findings can guide the creation of more efficient and focused therapies in microfluidic systems and enhance developments in medical technologies.
