Application of BIM technology in engineering project construction
The reform of information technology in the construction industry has begun to bear fruit. The introduction of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology, in particular, establishes a systematic information model for engineering projects, allowing for the efficient sharing of information from a magnitude of resources. Nonetheless, BIM technology subjects the professional knowledge of the designers, the project construction team, and all the parties involved in the construction of the project to a more stringent standard. Hence, it becomes crucial for all personnel to contribute vital information to the system resources and proactively instigate swift actions within minimal time frames. Recent years have witnessed a significant convergence between BIM technology and artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and various other technological advancements, catalyzing the digital reform of the construction industry. This paper analyzes some of the challenges arising from the application of BIM technology within the engineering and construction process, offering corresponding resolutions. It also introduces the application of BIM and other technological tools in China’s engineering and construction through a typical case study to provide practical insight and reference for the relevant personnel.
