Current status and modeling of mobile health management for chronic diseases: a case study of diabetic patients
The data from the seventh national population census shows that the proportion of elderly people aged 60 and above in China is gradually increasing, and the prevalence of chronic diseases among the elderly is also rising year by year. Currently, China has included the health management of diabetes in the basic public health service projects for all citizens. To understand the current status of mobile health management for diabetes patients and to conduct model analysis on the data, this study employed a questionnaire survey method, collecting data through simple random sampling. After analyzing the Cronbach’s α coefficient, factor analysis, K-Means cluster analysis, and random forest regression were performed. SPSS analysis yielded a Cronbach’s α coefficient of 0.681, and the KMO value reached 0.94, indicating that the data could be used for factor analysis. The approximate chi-square value for Bartlett’s test of sphericity was 23,975.721, with 1,081 degrees of freedom and a P-value below 0.001, meeting significance requirements. In the variance explanation table, at the 10th principal component, the eigenvalue for total variance explained was below 1.0, with the contribution rate of variables reaching 67.376, resulting in a good explanatory effect, indicating ideal factor analysis results. The scree plot analysis indicated that the number of factors stabilized at 4. (1) Consumers’ expected price range for mobile health products is concentrated between 100 to 1,000 yuan. (2) Most patients have a limited understanding of inedible diets. (3) Ease of operation and portability are the main factors for consumers using smart monitoring products. (4) According to the survey, among consumers who have used diabetes smart devices, community usage accounts for the largest proportion at 67.85%. (5) Diabetes patients are more inclined to adopt mobile health management products that can provide personalized health management plans, real-time blood sugar level monitoring, and health consultation and guidance features.
