Research on the process and tools of building MEP design based on data model
Traditional architectural design process follows an experience-based process, among which the MEP design mainly relies on continuous deepening of two-dimensional drawings. The process exposes significant problems such as post-design evaluation and low integration in system selection, optimization and route planning. Under the background of architectural digitalization, the key to rational architectural design is to make full use of the digital resources of architectural model and realize the real-time interaction in interdisciplinary collaboration. Therefore, this paper taking the design of building water supply system as an example proposed a method of architecture-MEP collaborative design process based on data model. The workflow links the calculation data, schematic diagram and three-dimensional model of MEP system to realize the application of data in the whole life cycle, and turns traditional “drawing architecture” to “calculating architecture”.
