Constrained Output Regulation of Positive Switched Systems Using a Time-Dependent Switching Method

This paper introduces a novel framework for the constrained output regulation of positive switched systems through a time-dependent switching strategy. Two scenarios are considered, one with full accessibility to all system states and another restricted to measuring only the output tracking error. Accordingly, state-feedback and error-feedback regulators are designed for each scenario. In both cases, coordinate transformations are employed to reframe the output regulation problem as a stabilization issue for the dynamically transformed state variable system. The average dwelling time scheme and multiple linear copositive Lyapunov functions are utilized to ensure both the stabilization and positivity of the closed-loop control system. Finally, two numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategies within switched positive systems, demonstrating that the designed time-dependent switching rules and feedback control strategies can achieve asymptotic tracking while preserving system positivity and stabilizing the overall closed-loop system.
