Internalization of Wasathiyyah Values Through Islamic Religious Education in Countering Radicalism in Students
This study aims to explore the role of Islamic religious education in internalizing wasathiyyah values to counteract radicalism among students. Wasathiyyah, which means moderation, is a very important value in Islam and functions as a balance in understanding and practicing religious teachings in a moderate and tolerant manner. The research method used is a literature review with descriptive analysis. The results of the study indicate that effective Islamic religious education can instill wasathiyyah values in students through an inclusive curriculum, wise teaching, and role models from educators. Strengthening these values is expected to prevent the growth of radicalism among the younger generation, thereby creating a harmonious and peaceful society. This study suggests the importance of collaboration between the government, educational institutions, and the community in an effort to strengthen Islamic religious education based on wasathiyyah values
