Numerical Model of Wave Hydrodynamics for Armour Unit A-Jack on the Seawall

A seawall is one way to anticipate threats to coastal areas. Prior to seawall construction, experimental structural analysis and numerical modelling are required. In this study, the numerical modelling of a seawall with A-Jack type armour units has been conducted by using DualSPHysics 5.0 software based on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics. Numerical modelling created a 3D Numerical Wave Tank to obtain the runup height and wave reflection due to the influence of the wave parameters and the structure slope. In this study, the A-Jack armour units have been arranged randomly. The numerical model results have been validated on experimental data from various sea wall slopes of 1:1, 1:1.5, and 1:2. From this research, it has been found out that the influence of wave steepness on the reflection coefficient and wave runup, as the wave slope increased, the reflection coefficient and runup decreased, and as the slope of the structure became steeper, the reflection coefficient and wave runup increased.
