The MAPP-1 Detector at LHC's Run-3

The MAPP-1 (MoEDAL Apparatus for Penetrating Particles) detector is installed in the UA83 tunnel of the Large Hadron Collider about 100m from the interaction point 8. The purpose of the detector is to extend the reach of the MoEDAL experiment with sensitivity to feebly ionizing particles, such as millicharged particles. In addition, the MAPP-1 combined with the MoEDAL trapping detectors has a sensitivity to extremely long-lived massive charged particles and very long-lived neutral particles.
