Russia-Georgia: security, cooperation, fraternity in the Great War against Fascism

On October 26, 2024, parliamentary elections were held in Georgia, resulting in the victory of the ruling Georgian Dream party. On December 14, 2024, presidential elections were held, which completed the formation of a new government. The only candidate from the Georgian Dream party, Mikheil Kavelashvili, became the president of the country. A mass opposition movement, led and sponsored by Euroliberals and American Democrats, rejected the results of the vote and demanded re-elections. Particularly loud protests from the opposition and its Western curators were heard in connection with the adoption by the government and parliament of laws banning LGBT propaganda and foreign agents. Anti-government demonstrations took place in Tbilisi and other cities in connection with the government's decision to postpone Georgia's accession to the European Union until 2030. The West’s critical, sometimes rude, reaction is linked to the fact that Georgia firmly adheres to a multivector foreign policy course, developing cooperation with neighboring states, including Russia. The legally elected government has withstood pressure from Euro-liberals and “democratic” Washington and continues to work successfully. The Georgian authorities intend to solemnly celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory over fascism.
