Digitalization of Construction Project Management Based on Digital Twins

When dealing with complex and changing project requirements, traditional project management methods have problems such as opaque progress, lack of quality control, and inaccurate cost control. The construction industry urgently needs digital transformation to effectively deal with these problems. In this context, digital twin technology provides an innovative solution for construction project management. This study first uses digital twin technology to build a virtual model that completely corresponds to the physical building, then widely collects real-time data from the construction site through sensor equipment and maps it to the digital model, laying a data foundation for intelligent project cost management. At the same time, the location information of mechanical equipment on the construction site is precisely tracked through the global positioning system and uploaded to the server in real-time for processing. By setting the warning threshold, the model can automatically warn and ensure the safety of project management. The research results show that the average model prediction accuracy of digital twin technology in progress management is 91.52%, and it helps reduce the total cost of the project by 15% in cost management. The application of digital twin technology not only improves project management efficiency and decision-making accuracy, but also significantly improves the economic benefits of the project.
