A Web Application on Education Management System Using Latent Semantic Analysis Based on Student Information System
Nowadays, the increasing demand for online education have driven the development of web-based education management systems. However, the existing Model-View-Controller (MVC) often limited by their inability to provide real-time access to track student progress, and exploit communication among teachers, students, and administrators. Hence, this research designs a web application on education management system with Latent Semantic Analysis based on Student Information System (LSA-SIS) for automated grade functions. Initially, the SIS module manages and automates the student related data which is accessed by students, teachers, and parents. This system serves as a centralized database where the information of all students is securely stored and accessed by authorized users. Then, the client-server model is implemented with the help of Python and Android Studio. The client-side part allows the students to download learning materials, solve assignments and access through web browser. In addition, the server-side component involves a microphone, speech recognition system with validator program. Finally, LSA is applied as a text analysis tool to calculate comparisons between words and provide grade functions based on student answers. From the results, the proposed LSA-SIS achieved better results in terms of R-Squared and Goodness-of-Fit with 0.792 and 0.816 respectively when compared to existing Expectation-Confirmation Model with Technology Acceptance Model (ECM - TAM) model.
