Virtual Reality Music Training for CI Users: Insights and Design Guidelines
Cochlear Implant (CI) users face challenges with music perception, including pitch, timbre, and spatial sound localization. While music training programs (MTPs) exist on traditional platforms, the potential of Virtual Reality (VR) remains underexplored. This paper presents the iterative development and evaluation of MuCIcal Adventures, a VR-based music training prototype for CI users. Developed through a user-centered design approach over three iterations, the findings provide design guidelines for immersive, accessible, and effective VR applications tailored to this user group.
