Enhancing Cloud Data Security Using Paillier Homographic Encryption Algorithm
Cloud security using encryption and decryption techniques involves protecting data by converting it into an unreadable format before transmitting it to the cloud. Authorized users with the appropriate decryption key can convert the data back into a readable form. This ensures the confidentiality and integrity of data during transmission and storage in the cloud environment. However, ensuring robust data privacy and protection against unauthorized access remains a challenge. Since cloud platforms are often managed by third-party providers, they introduce potential vulnerabilities in data storage, access control, and key management. To address these limitations, this research proposes the Paillier Homomorphic Encryption Algorithm (PHEA) for data security in cloud storage. PHEA is designed for the encryption and decryption processes to prevent unauthorized access in the cloud environment. During the encryption process, data is analyzed before being stored in the cloud. In the decryption process, authorized users are granted access to the data stored in the cloud. The proposed PHEA achieves an encryption time of 19ms and a decryption time of 35ms for 5000 bytes, when compared to the hybrid verification approach.
