Integrating Predictive Analytics and Internet of Things (IoT) to Optimize Supply Chains
The integration of predictive analytics and IoT alludes to the combination of advanced analytics and data collected from connected devices or the Internet of Things (IoT). This integration allows businesses to optimize their supply chain by leveraging accurate insights on demand fluctuations and asset performance. Applying predictive analytics and IoT to optimize a supply chain are two significant areas. The first area pertains to the collection of data from IoT sensors. This involves the implementation of a proper data acquisition architecture, including an effective network of protocol-enabled connected elements and a commensurate software platform for centralizing and analyzing the collected data. The second area involves leveraging predictive models and other advanced analytics techniques to forecast future processes and conditions. This allows for dynamic demand forecasting or predictive maintenance approaches for supply chain optimization.
