Intelligent Obstacle Detection and Classification for Visually Impaired Individual

The article reports an electronic system based on raspberry pi for detection and classification of the obstacles for the blind individuals. The significant electronic module utilized for performing the mentioned function is regulated through the YOLO algorithm. This algorithm on execution yields dual output for intercepted obstacles, namely, the classification of the obstacles and far point and near point of the detection. This two spatial point of the proposed system corresponds to 1209.99 and 3.75 cm, respectively. The detection and classification are experimentally performed for two different obstacles including the cell phone and human body. The experimentally characterized electronic system is proficient to be employed for the application of many fields of engineering and science.
