Evaluation of an interaction design for haptic directional guidance
This study investigates the design of a haptic feedback interaction in a guidance task using a wearable system that provides fingertip force feedback. The user is guided towards an invisible target by using directional cutaneous cues. The aim is to find if introducing force variation in this feedback interaction would result in a better performance than a force static sensation. Despite no significant differences in task completion time or accuracy has been found, trends indicate that static feedback was rated with a higher realism score compared to the varying feedback but with slower completion times.
