XR for Mental Health: How Users Perceive New Technologies?

XR technologies can provide effective help to people with mental health needs. We present ideas and preliminary studies on how people understand new XR technologies and how they can shape the future experiences related to their mental health well-being. We also propose a future where users of these technologies could report their mental health related needs and coordinate efforts between psychologists, app providers, and XR technologies in order to fulfill such needs.

Abstract

XR technologies can provide effective help to people with mental health needs. We present ideas and preliminary studies on how people understand new XR technologies and how they can shape the future experiences related to their mental health well-being. We also propose a future where users of these technologies could report their mental health related needs and coordinate efforts between psychologists, app providers, and XR technologies in order to fulfill such needs.
