Unmet Need for Human Papillomavirus Vaccination Among Men Who Have Sex With Men Living With and Without Human Immunodeficiency Virus, San Francisco, 2023
Less than half of MSM in San Francisco reported HPV vaccination. We recommend health care providers verify vaccination history and more routinely offer HPV vaccine to unvaccinated MSM at any age. Men who have sex with men living with HIV should consider HPV vaccination given confirmed safety, strong immune response, and some data on efficacy, even while awaiting further clinical studies.
