ANALYSIS OF MARKET MANIPULATION PRACTICES IN THE INDONESIAN CAPITAL MARKET

This research examines market manipulation practices using the pump and dump scheme in the Indonesian capital market and analyzes legal protection for affected investors. Using doctrinal research methods with literature study techniques, this research analyzes laws and regulations, legal doctrines, and related literature. The research findings show that despite existing regulations on market manipulation in Law No. 8 of 1995 concerning the Capital Market, law enforcement remains weak. The discussion also found that dispute resolution and investor loss recovery are not yet optimal, with sanctions being predominantly administrative in nature without effective loss recovery mechanisms for investors. The research concludes that strengthening the capital market supervision system and improving law enforcement mechanisms, including revision of the Capital Market Law and OJK Law, are necessary to protect investors and maintain the integrity of Indonesia's capital market.
