Edukasi Pemahaman Peningkatan Performance Mesin Bending Melalui Analisis Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) di PT XYZ
In the manufacturing industry, machine effectiveness and performance are crucial factors that affect productivity.Bending machines, as one of the key pieces of equipment in the metal production process, often face the challenge of achieving optimal performance, especially if not managed properly. The operator's lack of understanding of machine maintenance and performance is one of the main causes of decreased equipment effectiveness. This research aims to improve employees' knowledge of machine performance optimization through a participatory approach.performance optimization through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. In this approach, employees are actively involved in the process of problem identification, data analysis, solution design, and implementation of improvements, and implementation of improvements.Evaluation of the effectiveness of the program was conducted using using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metric, which refers to the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) standard with an ideal value of 85%, as well as the criteria Availability( 90%), Performance ( 95%), and Quality Rate ( 99%).Via case study on a bending machine at PT XYZ, it was found that the initial OEE was 62.35%, far below the set standard. The main causes of low OEE are high downtime (Availability 79.17%), sub-optimal performance (Performance 86.83%), and low OEE.(Performance 86.83%), and high product defect rate (Quality Rate 90.91%).To overcome these problems, a participatory education program involves operators in learning, discussion, and practice learning, discussion, and practice.
