The Effect of Plasticine Media in Improving Children's Fine Motor Skills

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of plasticine media in improving children's fine motor skills. Researchers used the pre-experimental design method with the type of one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study amounted to 27 people with a sample consisting of 13 children from group a AL Wahdah Jember Regency. Based on the results of the study, using the normality test and homogeneity test, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality value was 0.194 for the pretest and 0.209 for the posttest. As for Shapiro-Wilk, the pretest value was 0.390 and the posttest value was 0.094. The significance values are all above 0.05. Based on decision making, if the sign value is greater than 0.05, the data used is normally distributed. While the average homogeneity value is 0.092. This value is greater than 0.05, which based on decision making means that the data in this study are homogeneous. Furthermore, the paired t-test results have a value of 0.000 which means less than 0.05, which means that there is an effect of using plasticine media on fine motor skills. Educators can use plasticine media as an effective learning tool to help train children's fine motor skills in an interesting and creative way.
