Magnetic field effect on the atomic spectral properties of Cr XXI ion embedded in dense plasma environment
Abstract The effects of magnetic field on the atomic spectral properties of plasma embedded Be-like Cr XXI ion have been studied. To accomplish this, we use the relativistic configuration interaction (RCI) technique by incorporating magnetic field and analytical b-potential. Shielding effects on the inter-combination transitions 2s 2 1 S 0 → 2snp 3 P 1 and resonance transitions 2s 2 1 S 0 → 2snp 1 P 1 (n = 2, 3) of Cr XXI ion are investigated. Blue and red shifts in transition energies are observed for the transitions corresponding to Δn = 0 and Δn ≠ 0, respectively. We also studied the combined effect of dense plasma and magnetic field on the transition probabilities of magnetic sub levels corresponding to the transition 2s 2 1 S 0 (M J = 0) → 2s2p 3 P 1 , 1 P 1 (M J = 0, ± 1) and 2s 2 1 S 0 (M J = 0) → 2s3p 3 P 1 , 1 P 1 (M J = 0, ± 1). The present calculated results are in good agreement with the values of NIST database.
